NEW ARMOURED PILOT VEST LAUNCHED BY RFD BEAUFORT
Following intensive R & D, RFD Beaufort has launched the next generation Armoured Pilot Vest. Developed primarily for helicopter crews, the new range of Armoured Pilot Vests offer fire retardancy, floatation, ballistic and load carriage options with fall-arrest facilities and full-body harnesses without affecting the wearers comfort and ability to carry out mission activities.
Offering maximum protection to users with the ability to tailor armour levels to specific operational requirements and threat levels, the unique anatomically shaped armour gives maximum coverage and protection to vital organs without restricting mobility.
Designed to integrate with the full range of RFD Beaufort AGILE¨ protective and functional clothing such as liquid cooling garments, thermal layers and immersion protection garments, a version of the vest has been developed specifically for the Apache helicopter.
Developed for, and in service with the UK MoD, an additional significant order has recently been delivered to support ongoing helicopter deployment operations.
INTEGRATED LOGISTICS SUPPORT
RFD Beaufort is now able to offer complete through-life logistics support for products using dedicated real-time asset-management support software systems developed specifically for Pilot Flight Equipment and Liferaft markets.
Offering a range of features, this allows the customer to manage their complete procurement, asset-management and maintenance requirements from any location via internet accessibility.
The underlying software architecture is tailored to individual requirements with a system specifically developed to meet the demands of the JSF program recently launched to manage the supply of RFD Beaufort Pilot Flight Equipment.
Typical developments facilitate profile-based ordering for complex product ranges over large and geographically disparate organizations whilst being designed with an extremely flexible, simple and quick to use interface.
Products have complete traceability in terms of servicing and test schedules and the ability of the system to collect field data that can help predict ‘mean time to failure’ enables accurate stock control and replenishment leading to the efficiencies of ‘just in time’ production and distribution.
